Serenity Souls is safe space where Lauren guides a trauma-sensitive approach to somatic practices geared towards women and non-binary people.
These collective and re-occuring gatherings aim to empower you and allowed you to re-discover strength, self-love and self-forgiveness.
These somatic practices are designed to retrain the brain, and in doing so relax the nervous system and help bring the body into homeostasis (balance). Trauma can create grooves in the brain that can keep us stuck in fight, flight, freeze or fawn mode and affect the way our pre-frontal cortex works. This is the decision making and executive functioning skills aspect of our brain, which makes using the thinking brain hard and confusing when we do not undertake practices to self-regulate.
How do we do this?
Trauma-sensitive yoga
Slow, rhythmic and diaphragmatic breathing
Guided meditation
Journaling, tarot among other spiritual practices
And a co-regulation through coming together with a likeminded community where we can all help one another grow
Each session and its lay out may differ, but ultimately the same goal exists.
To access the strength you are searching for that is already within you.
